The E-cat Reactor That Andrea Rossi Built

Who among us does not search for a powerful source of energy? At every stage of our lives, we come in contact with different forms of alternative source of power. We are hoping that it could help solve the world’s energy crisis and global warming. We scrutinize them. Unfortunately, they all failed to impress us. Power consumption remains one of the problems in the world. Environmental pollution remains a threat to people’s health. The fusor apparatus of Italian inventor Andrea Rossi creates a stir when it successfully delivers vast quantities of heat that is safe, cheap and clean. In January 2011, Rossi has claimed that he has developed a true and working low energy nuclear reactions device. Of course, the scientific and academic community frowns at Rossi’s confident revelation about the energy catalyzer device. The non-scientific people remain silent, undecided as to whom to believe in. At that time, people worldwide only want to hear good news. And when Rossi provides it, they learn to embrace hope again. Hope does not abandon the people. People abandon hope. But on that fateful day, Rossi rekindles the fire that once put people’s desire ablaze; the desire to find the alternative source of energy that could power the whole world.

Rossi once said that he will build an industry surrounding his energy catalyzer LENR technology. In early days, he plans to work on small e-cat units because larger models are more difficult to deal with. For over a year, Rossi’s plans become bigger. He also feels more confident on the great potential of his technology; from a small kilowatt e-cat for domestic use to 1 megawatt e-cat. Various reports from different forums and conferences held from different part of the world highlight the potential benefits and advantages of e-cat LENR technology. There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming tests on the high temperature e-cats. This is the latest news regarding the Rossi’s new 600 Celsius e-cat reactor. 600C e-cat is perhaps the most exciting large scale development in alternative energy. Temperatures with this magnitude are hard to forget. It is also hoped that 600C e-cat can produce steam. If this succeeds and amounts prove to be sufficient, production electricity will certainly become important.  Using high temperature e-cat as a source of heat for steam production will make a significant impact not only to the economies in the world but also business communities and governments. Of course, the coal industry will also be affected by this huge impact. Fossil fuel industry will be threatened. Then there will be so much pressure from the governments to resist conversion since the said industry comes with a big amount of money. The politics behind this kind of business will always get in the way blocking e-cat to make a positive change.

The e-cat reactor that Rossi has built uses nickel and hydrogen in order to generate electricity. The catalyst he applies remains a big mystery. The validation of the high temperature e-cat will be done by third parties, according to Rossi in his official blog Journal of Nuclear Physics or JONP. Among the main targets of e-cat bashers and haters is that Rossi has full control of his reactor. There have been widespread talks that no independent evaluation of his device has been done. But this is only rumor, a wild speculation since it is a public knowledge that Rossi launched his e-cat on October 20 last year spearheaded by Domenico Fiovaranti. It was on the same date that an anonymous customer bought Rossi’s 1 megawatt e-cat reactor. Today, the reactor is currently in operation with less publicity as per the buyer’s request.
