Rossi: E-cat COP of 6 Remains The Standard

The latest update about the progress of Andrea Rossi’s e-cat fusor is indeed very exciting. The Italian inventor said that he has achieved 1000C stable e-cat temperature. This is obviously an amazing improvement of the new technology that faces many problems when it was first introduced to the public January of 2011. But Rossi maintains that e-cat COP of 6 is still the standard. This means that one e-cat ca generate enough electricity to drive another unit. As a result, there would be electricity left over. Rossi has indeed given his promise that e-cat can produce massive amounts of heat.

With 1000C e-cat, creating e-cat power plants will already be viable. E-cat LENR technology does no need excess fuel other than a small amount of nickel powder, hydrogen and a secret calyst (which is yet to be disclosed by Rossi). E-cat units could now replace current boiler systems. As what Rossi said, electricity is still not the top priority of his e-cat fusor. This time, it is still under certification testing and hopefully the applications will be approved before the year ends. When asked if it is realistic to launch home e-cat in 2013 while it is under certification, Rossi only said that he cannot give comments because it is not under their control.

Speaking of safety authorizations for the e-cat, the task for e-cat that could generate electricity would definitely go though rigorous tests before it will get certified. In principle, the task is definitely doable. E-cat producing efficient electricity could bring the LENR technology to its ultimate level. But at this time it is too early to say that the controversial invention is already an accomplished device. But it seems that the breakthrough reactor has passed every test Rossi conducted. Even the scientific circles are aware of its growth and development since the 1989 Fleishmann and Pons LENR experiment.

There would be lots of engineering involved, and multiple ways to approach the issue of making stand alone E-Cat generators. In time I am sure that efficiency and power density would be improved. But the most important breakthrough seems to have been made — very high temperatures, and it appears to me that Andrea Rossi has come up with a way to solve to a great extent many of the pressing energy problems that face our world.
